Meet Giddy: built for managers who want to giddy up their team

It all started three years ago atΒ Coletiv, a digital product studio that helps entrepreneurs design and build applications from scratch.

Giddy team

Employees want more than salary and perks. It is time to change how we see team happiness.

According to research by Development Academy, the biggest driver for employee dissatisfaction is feeling unappreciated in the workspace. Followed by being underpaid at around 58%.

That does turn wheels, right? Many leaders still believe that money and monetary perks are the most effective ways to boost employee happiness. And it does help temporarily, but the market is competitive. πŸ’Έ

Meet Giddy: built for managers who want to giddy up their team

In this era of well-being, your employees expect to feel valued for their effort and work with managers that appreciate them. In fact, high stress, having a bad manager, and dealing with difficult colleagues were also some of the top answers related to feeling unhappy at work.

In the same report, participants responded to the following question:

Why do you enjoy your job?

And, as expected, the answers were not related to salary whatsoever. πŸ€“

The top answers were related to human aspects such as having good teammates, feeling appreciated, flexibility, learning new things, and the company mission.

If you are a manager or leader yourself, are you creating the best work environment for your team? Is there something you would like to work on to make your employees more satisfied?

‍

Let me tell you the story about Giddy

It all started three years ago at Coletiv, a digital product studio that helps entrepreneurs design and build applications from scratch.

As a digital studio, the team was split through multiple projects, and it became difficult to keep up with the team's happiness.

To solve this, the team started gathering each month to talk about the different projects and share their thoughts. πŸ’

Each team member would vote, share feedback and discuss improvements. Then, the respective managers would act upon this feedback and make the necessary adjustments with the clients.

It helped build trust towards the managers and gave the team a space to express their concerns and ideas.

This process later evolved into an app with its own identity named Giddy.

‍

‍

What exactly is Giddy?

Giddy is an employee engagement app built for managers and leaders who want to giddy up their team. It allows gathering feedback from team members, tracking project performance, and planning actions for improvement. πŸš€

The concept is simple. You download the app, set up your projects, invite team members and rate your projects at the end of each week. Giddy will automatically turn the votes into ready-to-use monthly reports that you can take to a meeting with your team and talk it through.

Meet Giddy - for managers who want to giddy up their team

It is simple yet very effective as managers can have a complete overview of what is happening inside each project from the team’s perspective. And not just the client's perspective.

‍

‍

Why am I telling you this?

Because one small act to make employees feel appreciated is to listen and address their needs. And Giddy helps you do that. Giddy gives managers and leaders the necessary data about their team’s happiness and satisfaction while keeping an eye on their productivity and quality of work inside a project.

‍

At Giddy, we believe there are four important metrics to keep an eye on: Team Mood, Quality, Client Mood, and Project Management. With these metrics, managers can identify priority issues within projects and address them. πŸ“Š

‍

Imagine one of your projects has a low rating in Project Management. It might mean that your team is unsatisfied with the way tasks are organized. Or the deadlines being too tight.

By understanding how team members feel about a specific metric, it’s easier to solve problems. Through proper communication and planning.

‍

‍

Giddy’s Vision

Many leaders only have a client perspective on how the projects are going, but that is just the tip of the iceberg. Just because your client says everything is going well, your team might not think the same. πŸ˜…

‍

At Giddy, we believe managers and leaders should pay more attention to their team’s feelings and gather feedback more often. If your team members are unhappy and unmotivated, they probably won't deliver their best work. And, in the worst-case scenario, they will leave your company.

‍

With that said, our goal at Giddy is to give managers the necessary tools to create a positive work environment for their teams. πŸ’ͺ Whether you work at a digital services company with multiple projects or a SaaS company with many features and scattered teams.

‍

‍
